Please examine these refund terms thoroughly before confirming a reservation. By reserving a yacht with UniversalDataCommons, you consent to and accept these refund conditions.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete refund aside from service charges

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Processing Fee: €50 for credit card payments

Conditions: Stringent requests must be communicated in writing either through email or telephone

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Processing Fee: €25 subtraction from the refund amount

Conditions: Acceptable justification needed; service costs applied

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: Unavailability of refunds

Exception: Consideration given to emergent situations

Alternative: Potential credit for future charters at the discretion of the management

Conditions: Required evidence for emergency claims

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Commitment to Weather Safety

The security of our customers is paramount. Should the weather prove hazardous for sailing, as determined by our certified captain, we present flexible options:

  • Full Refund: Provided when rescheduling is not feasible
  • Reschedule: Opt to change the date of your charter to an upcoming available slot without extra charges
  • Charter Credit: Obtain a credit note that's valid for a year from the original booking

Procedure for Evaluating Weather Conditions

Our approach to assessing weather includes checking:

  • Analyses of wind velocity and orientation
  • Evaluation of wave patterns and general sea conditions
  • Forecasts of visibility and likelihood of precipitation
  • Notices and advisories from maritime authorities
  • Assessing the safety based on the professional captain's judgement

Timing for Decisions: Determinations regarding weather cancellations are made a maximum of 4 hours before the designated departure time.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Criteria for Medical-Based Refunds

We are sympathetic to unanticipated health crises. The ensuing scenarios are potentially eligible for special consideration:

  • Immediate medical emergencies necessitating hospital care
  • Prominent family bereavement
  • Sudden military deployment or procedural recall
  • Legal obligation like jury service or court order
  • Major natural catastrophes impacting travel plans

Documentation for Processing

Emergency refund claims must be accompanied by relevant paperwork:

  • Verification from a medical institution or healthcare provider
  • Documentation of death within the family (where necessary)
  • Official orders from military services
  • Legal documents such as summons or a jury notice
  • Public notifications or declarations related to natural calamities

Refund Timelines: Emergency-based refunds are handled within 3-5 business days upon submission of the right proof.

Operational Cancellations

Technical and Mechanical Failures

In events where your designated yacht is unusable due to mechanical faults:

  • Alternate Vessel: Effort will be made to find a suitable replacement
  • Complete Refund: Offered when no equivalent substitute is available
  • Partial Refund: Applicable if the replacement yacht is priced differently
  • Compensation: Extra recompense might be provided for any inconvenience suffered

Lack of Crew Availability

On rare occasions when a certified crew cannot be provided:

  • A replacement crew will be arranged if achievable
  • A full refund is issued if the yacht trip cannot proceed
  • Rescheduling option offered without added costs

How Refunds Are Processed

Original Payment Reimbursed

Refunds will be reverted to the same payment method originally used:

  • Credit Card Transactions: Within 5-7 business days
  • Direct Bank Refunds: Within 7-10 business days
  • Cash or Cheques: Within 3-5 business days

Administrative Costs

Card Transaction Charges

€50 fee for cancellations that are made with more than 72 hours notice

Bank Transfer Expenses

€25 fee for all refunded bank transactions

Extra Fees for International Transactions

Added costs may be incurred for transactions made across borders

Issuance of Charter Credits

Scenarios for Offering Credits

In certain circumstances, credits for yachting may be given in lieu of refunds:

  • Late cancellation notices (under 24 hours)
  • Cancellations due to inclement weather
  • Voluntary requests to postpone chartering
  • Uncontrollable operational setbacks

Charter Credit Specifications

  • Period of Validity: Credited value is valid for up to 12 months from the date of issue
  • Non-transferable: Credits cannot be passed on to other individuals
  • Fiscal Value: Equal to the entire charter cost and not diminished by service fees
  • Usage: May be applied towards any yacht available for chartering
  • Non-extendable: Credit must be used within the specified 12-month period

Partial Reimbursements for Incomplete Services

Disruptions During Services

If the charter gets interrupted or prematurely finished due to our own operational reasons:

  • Refund calculated in proportion to the unused portion
  • Credit that matches the value of a future yacht charter
  • Complimentary offers or service upgrades

Interruptions Caused by Guests

If a charter has to end early because of the behaviour or safety violations by guests:

  • No reimbursing for the remaining time
  • Full payment is still required
  • Potential additional costs for implicated matters

Settling Disagreements Regarding Refunds

For those not content with a refund ruling, the following steps can be taken:

  • Request an assessment from our supervisory personnel
  • Submit further justification or proof
  • Search for mediation through consumer support entities
  • Resort to legal channels per the jurisdiction's laws

Upon receipt, our team will recognize your petition within a day, review it in light of our policy, communicate the outcome within 2 days, and complete any approved reimbursements within the prescribed times.

Essential Reminders

  • All petitions for refunds must be conveyed in a written format
  • Reimbursements are done in € regardless of the currency used during payment
  • Acquisition of travel insurance is highly advised
  • This guideline is subject to alterations, provided a notice is given 30 days prior
  • Reimbursements are inclusive of relevant taxes and are governed by applicable regulations
